MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter is looking for a creative and energetic individual to join our team! The Shelter Medicine Program Manager oversees the shelter medicine program and includes, but is not limited to: ensuring all shelter animals receive immediate and ongoing care, treatment, and surgery to make them ready for adoption; working collaboratively with shelter veterinarians to determine and implement treatment plans for individual animals; work closely with Shelter Manager to implement additional shelter programming in which veterinary care is a factor; possess or be willing to obtain Euthanasia Technician certification; apply for grants; work positively and transparently with all stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, visitors, and clients. Must be able to humanely handle animals that may be stressed or fearful; lift up to 50lbs; stand for long periods of time; actively pursue, with organizational support, ongoing training and education as needed.
Veterinary Technician certification is preferable, but not a requirement of the position. Likewise, candidates with previous experience in a animal shelter will also be given preference, but it is not a requirement of the position.
