Who is CATCH?

We end homelessness for families in Idaho’s Treasure Valley by inspiring stable housing, financial independence, and resilience. Each year, we co-create a new story for over 200 people, using a Housing First philosophy. We have been asked by Ada County, Idaho’s Continuum of Care (CoC) - a partnership of all service providers, housing providers, government agencies, and advocates dedicated to ending homelessness - with being the lead agency in launching a new program called Our Path Home.

 

Our Path Home took a fragmented system of care and built one access point, one assessment of service needs, and one waiting list for all persons ending their homelessness in Ada County, Idaho. This systems change effort is built around five values:

The Our Path Home Landlord Relationship Manager assists with services to households experiencing homelessness to provide advocacy, assist with connection to benefits, and housing. This position reports to the Our Path Home Program Director and serves the Our Path Home program. Our Path Home is a program managed by CATCH, Inc., under the oversight of the Boise City/Ada County Continuum of Care.


The Landlord Relationship Manager works closely with prospective property owners and managers to promote permanent housing opportunities for households experiencing homelessness in coordination with Our Path Home partners. The Landlord Relationship Manager conducts outreach and provides educational information including available subsidies, security deposit assistance, the benefits of alignment with Our Path Home, cost savings via low tenant turnover, and a 90% or above housing retention rate. Responsibilities:

·         Networks and collaborates with area housing resources and maintains a presence at housing-related meetings

·         Maintains a relationship with existing property managers/owners and establishes new relationships with those willing to house Our Path Home clients

·         Establishes, updates, maintains and communicates a list of available housing opportunities at least twice per week to our partner agencies

·         Consistently meets all agency assigned outcome goals with respect to number of rental property contacts and number of people served, and number of clients exited to permanent housing

·         Prepares materials for making presentations to property managers and property owners or other groups

·         Fields inquiries from prospective property owners to provide information on housing provider no-cost services, listens to their needs and ensures submission of completed housing applications where appropriate

·         Assists clients in their search for housing, filling out rental applications, interpreting leases and understanding tenant rights and responsibilities

·         Assesses for compliance with industry regulations and inspection readiness

·         Facilitates Case Conferencing meetings, in coordination with Program Director

o    Meeting preparation;

o     Meeting facilitation;

o     Ensures effective service delivery by notifying Case Managers of all housing opportunities

·          Mediates conflicts with landlords and making moving arrangements, as needed

·         Maintains Client Records

o    Maintains accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes as well as other services in accordance with Federal, State, County and Our Path Home guidelines;

o     Maintains client related data systems, including case notes and HMIS entries;

o     Maintains a Property Manager/Owner Contact Log to meet set expectations;

o    Prepares related reports including but not limited to: outcomes, successes, etc.;

·         Familiarity with current housing market information, housing trends and available resources

·          Knowledge of effective business/professional contact techniques

·          Other duties and projects as assigned


Qualifications:

·         3 years of non-profit or related experience strongly preferred

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Services or comparable combination of education/work related experience required

·         Experience in a social services setting with working knowledge of case management systems and planning techniques

·         Knowledge of housing resources, subsidy programs, and the Continuum of Care for persons experiencing homelessness is preferred

·         Experience working with households experiencing homelessness is strongly preferred

·         Must be proficient in the following computer applications--Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

·         Must have own transportation to conduct job related travel and must be able to drive agency vehicles

·         Must meet insurance carrier’s requirements for approval to drive

·         Requires knowledge and belief in “Housing First” philosophy and strategies

·         Experience working within diverse communities

·         Able to remain calm and focused in volatile situations. Demonstrated experience working in crisis intervention

·         Understanding of harm reduction frameworks and how they apply to direct service

·         No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, or predatory behavior


Position Information:

·         Full-Time

·         Flexible work schedule:

o    Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 pm

·         Work is primarily performed in the Our Path Home office and travel to visit prospective landlords

·         Work environment usually hectic (fast paced) with frequent short deadlines and a regular number of critical or unusual situations

·         Some physical work, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, carrying up to 35 pounds

·         Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to various work locations

·         May require work outside of normal work hours, including evenings or weekends
