Director of Programs

The position is responsible for representing Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho in the community, coordinating Eastern Idaho (EI) outreach, community and funding efforts, and managing the Ronald McDonald Family Room (RMFR) at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. This includes recruitment, training, scheduling and stewardship of RMFR volunteers and managing the day to day operation of the RMFR and the interactions with the hospital. 

 

This is a full time, exempt, salaried position reporting to the Executive Director

The position will be based in Idaho Falls

Salary DOQ, compensation includes health, dental & vision benefits, Simple IRA

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Executive Director, other support staff and Family Room Committee, develop strategy for RMFR implementation, community engagement and fundraising for EI 

  • Work collaboratively to develop budget and needs for RMFR program & implement budgetary oversight

  • Serve as the contact staff for special events and fundraisers in EI, working with Special Events Coordinator

  • Identify strategies to engage donors, community members and companies in supporting RMHC

  • Represent RMHC at community events

  • Work in collaboration with Data & Administrative Director to develop and maintain record keeping, tracking and acknowledgement of donors, RMFR guests and volunteers

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation for the RMFR

  • Responsible for recruitment, training, scheduling and oversight of RMFR volunteers

  • Actively cultivate and manage relationships with hospital departments that interact with RMFR

  • Provide a supportive role to families, promoting a warm and friendly environment

  • Ensure cleanliness, safety and smooth operations of the RMFR

     

    Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and experience with databases

  • Previous successful community relations/engagement and fundraising experience

  • Previous successful experience working with volunteers

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision making skills

  • Flexible in work functions and duties and respond to changing priorities

  • Motivated self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Must maintain high confidentiality and understand working with private and sensitive data

  • Must be organized, able to function as a team member, accept direction and provide leadership, and highly sensitive to and supportive of the needs of RMHC mission and guest families

  • The employee is regulary required to walk, sit and stand, reach with arms and hands, talk, hear and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds
