The Advocate Coordinator will coordinate and support Volunteer Advocates by assisting in reporting, site visits, court appearances and Guardian training. The Advocate Coordinator will provide mentoring and shadowing opportunities for new Guardians, and provide logistical support and a point of deescalation for existing Guardians. The Guardian will be expected to also act as a Guardian ad Litem on cases. This position is funded through a one year grant, with the possibility of a longer term if additional funding is secured.
Key Responsibilities are Volunteer and Data Management: Supervises program caseload and responsible for: analyzing case plans with volunteers, updating files, and updating case information in computer. Maintains frequent contact (at least monthly) with each assigned volunteer and keeps a tracking system of all contacts. Coordinates and facilitates some volunteer meetings. Provides support to volunteers as needed. Assists volunteers with drafting of court reports with appropriate case recommendations. Edits, proofreads, and files court reports. Assists volunteers with investigative interviewing of associated parties of child protection case. Appears in court to make recommendations for best interests of children in child protection cases. Acts as liaison between program and professional community, facilitating communication between agencies and volunteers. Provides regular reports to Executive Director on case/volunteer activity. Helps with trainings and in-service trainings when needed. Provides verbal, and/or written recognition of volunteers’ contributions, and assists in development of volunteer support/recognition activities.
